I grew up in Oakland listening mostly to soul and R&B. So it was a revelation to me to go back and listen carefully to the later work of John Lennon. "Working Class Hero, Nobody Told Me...Songs in the new "INSTANT KARMA" CD. Then to watch the terrific film, 'US v. John Lennon' just confirmed for me how much John Lennon and Yoko Ono had going on. They were conceptual artists; activists; and revolutionaries.

I had always thought their Bed-ins were silly publicity stunts. But now I realize they were much more than that.

For a brief period, you could watch the Mike Douglas Shows that John and Yoko hosted on YOU TUBE. (My husband skipped school for a week to see these live in the 70's.) I urge you to watch these when you can. And check out this special: John & Yoko: Give Peace a Song. Maybe it will remind you, as it has for me, of the powerful message John Lennon was trying to convey 40 years ago.
